Aim and Scope
As
Sakarya University, we are planning to organize the “International Interdisciplinary
Women’s Studies Congress” between the dates of March 5th, 6th, 7th 2008.
The
increasing importance of women’s rights and education in the world brigs
out the needs of the adaptation process of our country to EU, social
changes, modernization, reassessment of women’s place and importance in
Turkey. In this respect, our university aims to gather academic studies
on women issue with other related disciplines.
Qualified
academic and interdisciplinary studies in the fields such as Culture,
language, Literature, Communication, Education, Sociology, Social Works,
Social Gender, Work Style, History, Politics, Law and Health that focus
on protection of women’s social, political and legal rights, women’s
place, family issues, women’s socio-cultural change and education will
not only be beneficial for the development of our country but also
lighten scientific studies.
The main
objective of women’s studies is to discuss the studies on this issue,
research problematic fields and produce solution proposals. Therefore,
that would be a great contribution to theoretical and practical studies
on women considering the development in our country and the world. Other
objective of the congress is to convene academicians and other related
authorities, provide sharing of information and experiences.
